Eastertime

All these photos have been taken throughout March and the last one is what Alessio made at school, it is very sweet!

Today Alessio and I went to the zoo and today was the opening day of their Australian area. They have two koala bears and they were the star attraction. They were so sweet and everyone was completely in love with them (me included). Apparently they sleep 14 hours a day so maybe we were lucky that one of them moved a little bit which got everyone excited!

The Easter break is usually a time that people are away and tomorrow with a friend we are going to Bucharest, Romania. It was not our first choice we wanted to go to Marrakech in Morocco but we had left it too late and it was very expensive and horrible flight times. So Bucharest it is!!

Wishing you all a lovely Easter break!

The Belgian Comic Museum in Brussels

It has been a while since I last did a post and to be honest have not really been in the mood, but finally here is one. It is from our trip to Belgium last October, where we spent a weekend in Brussels, usually I try to pick things to do and see that will hopefully amuse Alessio and the Belgian Comic Museum was one of them.

It was located actually very near to our hotel, Alessio only knew who Tintin was not the other comic characters. Nevertheless he did seem quite interested in all the exhibits and the amazing drawings. He can draw quite nicely, something he did not inherit from myself!

There was certainly a lot of hands on experiences which he liked and of course in the museum shop he managed to persuade me to get him some Tintin books. They did look really nice and of course if it encourages his reading then why not!

The entry fee for kids under 12 is only 3.50 euro and adults 10 euro so not too bad and if you are a comic fan, this would certainly be a place for you to visit!

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the spring weather!

Wädenswil Fasnacht Parade

Fasnacht/carnaval is over for another year and as usual I did not see anything except the kid`s parade in Wädenswil. We go every year with most of the kids in our daycare and it is always a lot of fun and this time was no exception. In fact all the kids really enjoyed themselves, a few thought it was rather loud (yes it was) and they got tons of sweeties to take home.

Not much as been happening and thankfully the extremely cold weather of last week has gone and we got a glimpse of spring this week for a few days.

I have been buying a lot of books lately along with my fellow book friends, we all went tiny bit mad on Saturday. I bought 8 in fact but 5 of then were 2ch each so I don´t mind at all. There is a very good second hand book store very near to Bahnhof Enge, with a huge section of English books.

I also went to see the movie Red Sparrow which I didn`t really enjoy too much, as it was so violent (for me anyway). I did like Jennifer Lawrence, just not the movie!

This weekend won`t see much happening at all, Alessio will go and play with a friend and on Saturday evening will be having fondue. There seems to be nothing at the cinema for Alessio to see at the moment which is a shame!

Have a lovely weekend!

Book Subscription

So here is another book post, since December I decided to treat myself to a book subscription. I did some research and I decided to try The Willoughy Book Club.

I gave them a list of authors that I would like books from and then each month they send a book. I also got postcards and badge too, included in the package.

These are the three books that I have received and so far I have only read The Crane Wife by Patrick Ness.

The whole thing cost £50 which I thought was quite expensive, but to continue I got a discount so I decided to try another 3 months. I just hope that the next books are ones I haven`t got as I have lots of books!

This is a big thing nowadays and there are many different book subscription to chose from like Book Voyage, FairyLoot, Book and a Brew, Owlcrate and Young Adult. They all sound really great!

Hope you all have a good weekend!
