December Reading List

The last month of 2018 I managed to read 8 books, I am not going to write them all down as you can see them from the photos. The Elena Ferrante book is the second in the My Brilliant Friends and that was my favourite of all the books. I also really liked Lethal white the fourth book by Robert Galbraith.

I have no plans for the weekend yet but sure something will come up, maybe a movie with Alessio and try to finish some more books.

Happy Thursday

Ubud Market, Bali

In Ubud, we visited the market and as you can see from the photos there was many different things to buy. Here you can bargain with the sellers which is not my strong point, the stuff is already dead cheap and you get little more of the price. I did not buy anything for me but for a friend, which I still have to give to her. It was a busy place and full of mostly tourists and were many. many stalls to look at and in the end it was more or less the same stuff being sold.

This weekend has passed again quickly, I had a very quick trip to Konstanz with a friend and bought some things. Alessio was playing in two indoor football tournaments, so that kept him busy.

Wishing you all a good week ahead

A Very Fancy Singapore Hotel

I thought I would show you all the hotel we stayed in, in Singapore, it was the Park Royal on Pickering.  To say that I loved this hotel would be an understatement. I chose it back in September because it looked so different to any other hotel I have stayed in. The architecture alone was outstanding, then you had all the greenery too. We only stayed one night sadly, I could have stayed a lot longer given the chance.

Hope you all had a good weekend, for us Sunday was the busiest day. We had over family for brunch which was really lovely. Alessio and I went to the cinema to see the latest Robin Hood film and then we went for dinner.

Have a good week

The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, I just arrived back today (4th Jan) from Singapore. I thought I would show you some of the photos from our trip in South-East Asia.

The first stop was Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, this was the first time for me and Arlene. We only had a day here so we made the most of it. In the evening I had pre-booked a ticket to go up the twin towers, which was just as well as they were all sold out for the day. I went alone as Arlene does not like heights.

The tour is a guided one, first you get some instructions and then you are whisked up to the to the sky bridge which is around level 43 I think. You are given 10 minutes to look and take photos. Then again whisked up to the level 88 which you can read all kinds of information about the towers. I wanted to go in the evening as I think cities look quite stunning lit up. Unfortunately it can make it difficult to take good photos (in my case anyway).

Afterwards you are taken 3 levels down where there is a shop and you have a wait a bit until it is time to descend to the lowest level and the exit. There is another shop also.

Some facts about the Petronas twin towers they are 451.9m high and have 88 levels, from 1998 to 2004 they were the tallest towers in the world. They remain the tallest twin towers in the world. The towers were designed by Argentine architect Cesar Pelli. It is definitely the highlight of a visit to KL.

Wishing you all a great weekend
