A Boat Trip on Loch Katrine, Scotland

In April this year during our Spring holidays, Alessio and I, along with my parents went for a day trip to Loch Katrine. Loch Katrine is situated in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, it is a 13km fresh water loch. The driving time is over 2 hours from Broughty Ferry.

The name Loch Katrine comes from the Gaelic cateran meaning Highland robber, on the Northern shores of this loch was born the most famous folkloric outlaw turned hero Rob Roy Macgregor. Also for Outlander fans from season 2, episode 13 some scenes was filmed here.

We took a 45min boat trip on the historic Sir Walter Scott steamship, it was very busy trip. You might want to make sure there will be tickets available. The views were outstanding. Suffice to say it was rather chilly but the sun was shining too. Afterwards we had some refreshments at the cafe.

This Christmas we will be going to Scotland and hopefully doing some day trips as well as family get togethers.

Hope you are all having a great weekend

Christmas Lights in Barcelona

Barcelona in December, we were there to see a football match, but we enjoyed walking around the city on Friday evening. The Christmas lights were really lovely, to be honest much nicer than in Zurich.

The Christmas markets were really busy, so we did not really hang around, but unlike in other countries, they don't do mulled wine. I do like a mulled wine at a Christmas market.

Now I am officially on holiday for 2 weeks and we will be going to Scotland for some of this time. Anyway enjoy the weekend and any plans you all have.

Streetart in Vilnius, Lithuania

The October break saw myself and Alessio head off to Lithuania and the capital Vilnius. It is quite well known for the street art and one in particular which I could not find. The one depicting Donald Trump and Putin kissing, it was then changed to them sharing a cigarette. I would have loved to have seen it but sadly it was not to be.

We saw lots of other great works and there was a map where you can visit all the street art, we did see quite a lot but not all. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

The weekend past was in Barcelona and we had a lovely time. We were really lucky to have had really warm weather.

Just two more weeks left to work, well technically seven working days and then we are off to Scotland for Christmas.

Have a great week
