I have actually finished this 365 Photo Challenge and I am quite glad in a way, but it feels quite strange to not have to take a photo everyday.

Last weekend I went to Nancy, France with my friend Arlene and two teenagers India and Natalie. Nancy is in the region called Lorraine around up to 4 hours driving from Zurich, keeping more or less to the speed limits. I did a post on words about Edinburgh and quite liked the idea, that I will continue to do on other cities I will visit.

The first two photos are taken in the main square Place Stanislas. Just off the square you come to an area with lots of restaurants and bars, which we checked out for later that evening. We ate in the one with a cow wearing a hat and a bottle of wine!

There was lots of interesting buildings to gaze at and lots of lovely shops which we did not go into. Le Petit Theatre was in fact a men`s barber place, which I thought was kind of cool! Homemade drinks in a bar we passed, it did look quite nice. The last was our hotel right in the main shopping street and near to the train station. It was quite good and only 35 euros per person, we got a welcome drink and a free packed lunch, not bad!

Technorama

The first outing of the year with the children from work was to Technorama in Winterthur, easily reachable by public transport. The children all had great fun exploring the experiments on offer, they just went from one to the next one. It is great in that children can press buttons, move levers or pick things up. There are helpers around to explain and show how they work. It is also written in English the explaination of the experiment. It is well worth a visit, maybe not the children under 4 I think.

This is the last post about Davos, a little reminder of the warmer weather coming, thankfully I hear you all saying after the cold spell we have had in February. Already on Friday it should be 10 degrees looking forward to it!

Birds in Davos

Back to Davos at the end of January while Aimee and I went for the walk around Lake Davos, we saw these lovely birds. They were not at all afraid of us as we got quite close and took the photos. Close ups are not so good on my camera but I tried, I have no idea what birds they are. Anyone know?

H is for House

H is for houses, the first is part of a lovely house in Davos, the second and third are in Wadenswil. The fourth was taken in the summer in Feldbach and the last in Rorbas.
