This is about my life in Zurich, all the places I visit, what I get up to with my son and anything I think is good to blog about.

Wädenswil Fasnacht Parade
Fasnacht/carnaval is over for another year and as usual I did not see anything except the kid`s parade in Wädenswil. We go every year with most of the kids in our daycare and it is always a lot of fun and this time was no exception. In fact all the kids really enjoyed themselves, a few thought it was rather loud (yes it was) and they got tons of sweeties to take home.
Not much as been happening and thankfully the extremely cold weather of last week has gone and we got a glimpse of spring this week for a few days.
I have been buying a lot of books lately along with my fellow book friends, we all went tiny bit mad on Saturday. I bought 8 in fact but 5 of then were 2ch each so I don´t mind at all. There is a very good second hand book store very near to Bahnhof Enge, with a huge section of English books.
I also went to see the movie Red Sparrow which I didn`t really enjoy too much, as it was so violent (for me anyway). I did like Jennifer Lawrence, just not the movie!
This weekend won`t see much happening at all, Alessio will go and play with a friend and on Saturday evening will be having fondue. There seems to be nothing at the cinema for Alessio to see at the moment which is a shame!
Have a lovely weekend!

Fasnacht Parade in Wädenswil
Fasnacht (carnival) is finished for another year and this year as usual we went with nearly all the children in the daycare to see the parade in Wädenswil. On the Monday it is always for the kids, so all the kids were got dressed up. It starts around 2.15pm and it can be really noisy but just about all our kids seemed to cope with the noise. There were lots of great costumes, floats and music, which is just what you want during a Fasnacht parade.
This was really the only one I have seen this year, I got a glimpse of the one in Zurich but Alessio did not really want to stop and see it. I guess we are both not big fans!
Have a great week!

Zurich Fasnacht!
Zurich fasnacht, that is carnival to the rest of us was from the 7th to 9th March. The main parade was on the Sunday, Saturday saw the kid`s parade. As you can imagine it was packed to full the streets but I did manage to find a practically empty street to watch the parade.
The only down side to there being hardly anyone watching the parade is that the dressed up folk tend to come up to you and well annoy you or other stuff. One poor lass got chucked in a small cart of straw, photo number 5! Thankfully nothing happened to me, maybe because there were lots of kids for them to annoy!
This was the only fasnacht parade that I saw this year, as I am not really into it, but it is nice to see everyone dressed up and looking scary.

Horgen Fasnacht
Alessio was a cowboy this year with his pistol which he was firing everywhere, he enjoyed picking up the confetti on the ground. He collected it in his cowboy hat and then threw it all on me!
It was nice to hear the music, see the floats, the cool outfits and see all the kids dressed up.
It was a rather coolish day so after 1.5 hours we headed to see my friend Arlene for some warm food. Next year I will go to the Zurich parade as never seen it in all my years of living here!
