This is about my life in Zurich, all the places I visit, what I get up to with my son and anything I think is good to blog about.

Photo of the Week - Flying!
For the photo of the week, I went back to April last year and my holiday in Holland. This was taken in Amsterdam, the fair was in Dam Square and we were walking by on another street and somehow I managed to take this photo of a few swings. I feel that they are actually moving and I like how the building is darkened, so you notice the swings.

Amsterdam Snaps!
Back in April we spent 5 days in Holland, we based ourselves in Amsterdam, but took 4 days trips. The day we arrived and the day we left and of course the evening were all spent in Amsterdam. This was my 4th visit to this city and I have to say I really love Amsterdam. I love the canals, the architecture and the night-life is quite interesting too!!
I have to say that it was really good that we managed to visit 3 other cities too, as Holland has lots to offer than just Amsterdam. There are still lots of other places that I would have liked to have seen, maybe I will see them one day. This time we did not take a canal trip in Amsterdam, I have done that in the past, this holiday we did the boat trip in Utrecht.
If you have the chance to see other places in Holland then do so!

Photo of the Week - Amsterdam
We are back to Amsterdam for this photo, taken in the outdoor area of the Hermitage, I like the play on words of the phrase. The museum is by the way very good and we enjoyed seeing the exhibition of Flemish painters. We saw this museum on the last morning of our stay, still have a few more post of our trip to Holland to post.

Photo of the Week - Big Wheel!
The photo of the week comes from Amsterdam where we recently have been for 5 days, this big wheel is situated in Dam Square, along with other rides. In this square lies the Royal Palace, the New Church, Madame Tussaud`s Wax Museum and the National Monument. You cannot actually see the Royal Palace and the church due to the funfair. In general the square is not very nice compared to others, in my opinion.
When it comes to night photography you should really take a tripod with you, I did an evening course on this subject with my simple point and shoot camera and got some good photos. I do not carry one with me at all, so sometimes the photos turns out good (if I do say so myself). I had another photo of this wheel but in the end I decided on this shot. Hope you all like it too!

Amsterdam Words
Our time in Amsterdam was still quite a lot even with visiting four new places, we still had all Saturday afternoon and evening. Also each evening after returning from our trip we went out to another part of Amsterdam in search of a restaurant. The photos I took basically caught my eye, I had to take the photo of Cafe Bern although we did not go into it and Hill Street Blue appealed to me because of the old American police serie.

Bikes in Holland!
So just returned home from our Dutch trip took many photos and have been looking through them deciding which ones I like. I was amazed at just how many bikes there are in the cities and how fascinating some of them look. Some has crates front and back, some have baskets, bags, many are decorated individually and of course kids can sit front and back. No one wears a helmet here which of course is not so good and people cycle and text at the same time. You have to really be careful crossing the roads more so for bikes than cars.
