Bergen From Up High!

Back to Bergen so to speak! One of the many things we did while in Bergen was to take the funicular to Mt Floyen.

Mt Floyen is 320 metres above sea level and it is only about 8 minutes to the top from Bergen. It is quite easy to find the place where it leaves from, quite near to Bryggen. The view is great, as you would expect and helps you see how big Bergen is and spread out.

We did not do much as it was really cold and did not want to walk down, but I can imagine in the warmer months it would be a great day out. There are ample opportunities to hike and walk around, there is a playground for kids too.

By the way before we went up we had lunch in a lovely cafe very near to the entrance to the funicular called Cafe Ruccola.
