Fondazione Prada/Bar Luce in Milan

During our weekend in Milan back in May we visited the Foundazione Prada opened in 2015 to showcase contemporary art and culture. The main exhibition was about TV in the 70s in Italy, and to be honest we were not so impressed with it, probably as we didn`t understand it either, here explains it more!

I was more interested in seeing the actual place and look at the architecture, this place was a former distillery. Rem Coolhaas, the Dutch architect and his firm OMA have created/renovated this amazing space for the Foundazione Prada. The golden building you see in the photos has been named Haunted House and is entirely covered by 24-carat gold leaf.

Bar Luce was designed by the American director Wes Anderson, his movies are The Grand Hotel Budapest (loved it), The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Darjeeling Limited to name but a few. It is a lovely bar/cafe, in which we all had something to eat and drink. I kind of thought it gave off 50s vibes in the decor.

I really enjoyed coming to the Foundazione Prada and if I lived in Milan would come quite often!
