Flea Market in Zurich

The flea market in Zurich is situated at Bürliplatz and there are many stalls to check out. They range from clothes, jewelry, cutlery, plates, cups, books, toys, paintings, furniture, boxes and much more. I often wonder if the sellers make a lot of money or they just enjoy meeting with the other sellers and having a fun day out! It is usually during the summer months maybe earlier if the weather is good I suppose. There is always lots of people looking, when I am there I usually go to the book stalls (surprise).

This weekend I am having a Halloween party, I have bought decorations and we had lots from last year. Alessio is quite excited about it and will be keen to help decorate. My friend Hannah is making Halloween cupcakes, already looking forward to them! I hope to make pumpkin pie, yum! I have completely forgotten about a costume though! I do have a witch hat, yes it is not much I know!

Have a great weekend!

September Reading List

How are you all doing? I am a bit tired and it is only the first day of the week! Soon it is nearly the end of October, so better get in the reading list for September. I read 6 books that month so not bad indeed!

The Last Witness by Denzil Meyrick, the second in the series with DCI Daley. I am trying to read books in the correct order now.

Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitoch, this is also a series and it is also the second in the series. About PC Peter Grant who also happens to be a wizard in training.

The Monogram Murders by Sophie Hannah, this is case for Poirot! Here is a review of the book. I enjoyed it a lot and will read the other by her!

Thin Air by Ann Cleeves, now I am up to date with this series featuring Jimmy Perez and set in the Sheltlands. A super series definitely would recommend them and also like the TV series too.

The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry, this is quite a change from the books I had been reading and it was a welcome change too. Here is a review of this book.

The Reykjavik Assignment by Adam Lebor, I do like a book to do with spies and national security. Although Reykjavik part of the story comes nearly at the end, but I very much enjoyed it and will read his other books now too. Sadly it is the final book in a trilogy, oh well never mind!

Have a good week!

This weekend has nothing special planned just going to see some movies at the cinema, Blade Runner 2049 and maybe The Snowman.

Have a good one!

Monet`s House and Garden

It is mid way through the week and only one more working day to go! Last week Alessio and I were in Belgium and I have not put the photos on the lap top yet so will have to wait a bit. Instead we will go back to the end of May and a trip to Paris.

Alessio and I visited Monet`s House and Garden in Giverny, it is not too far from Paris and we went with to the train. The gardens are quite far from the train station but there are shuttle buses to take or you could walk. I bought the tickets online and that helped with the lines to get in, which was just as well as it was a hot day.

As you can imagine and hopefully see from the photos that the garden was pretty amazing. So many lovely flowers and very colourful We wondered around the gardens for a bit and then queued to get into the house itself. It is such a beautiful house and you could imagine looking out of the windows and feeling inspired to paint. The rooms were just delightful and there were some of his paintings hanging too.

We then walked to the other side to see where he painted the famous water Water Lillies painting. The pond, the water lillies, the famous bridge and  trees were all really beautiful and it was packed with people taking lots and lots of photos.

I was really pleased that I have visited here as it had been on my bucket list for a while. It cost 10.20 euros for an adult and children over 7yrs cost 7.20 euros. You can also book a tour which makes it easier getting into the place, but definitely get your tickets online as it does make a difference.

Have a good rest of the week!!
