This is about my life in Zurich, all the places I visit, what I get up to with my son and anything I think is good to blog about.

Chamonix Words
Last weekend we spent it in Chamonix, I drove from Zurich my first major long drive and all went well. We had great weather which you will see from the posts, so the first one from this region is from the word series. There were lots of signs, bars, restaurants, street names that I liked so this is a selection from them. The last one is the the hotel that we stayed in called Croix Blanche, it was ok.
The highlight was seeing Mont Blanc and being really quite near to it, without actually climbing the summit. This weekend my parents return to Scotland but we will be going to see them in October for 10 days. It is always great to go back to Scotland!

Riikka and Ernst Wedding
On the 31st July I went to my second wedding this year, Riikka and Ernst, they got married on a farm called Lützelhof in Pfaffikon. It was a lovely day, the sun was shining, I was there with four other work friends Hannah, Lisa, Linda and Carmen.
We arrived around 4pm, the couple were already married and we joined them for the apero. We sat outside enjoying the delicious food, the sun and of course with some wine!
During this time we wrote on postcards, wishes for the happy couple, they were then tied to a balloon and the balloons were them let up into the air all at the same time. We later found out that all our postcards got returned to Riikka and Ernst, which was great to know.
Later on we went inside for our evening meal, everything was set out in a lovely way. We found names in a hears shape on our table, along with a finnish sweet. The evening entertainment spread out between the courses, which included singing and a play in Finnish, as the bride is Finnish.
After lots of drinking and eating we left around midnight, we all had a great time, thanks again to Riikka and Ernst!

Q is for Queen
While looking through my photos I saw this one that I took while in the town next to Sherwood Forest and thought that this would be good to use in the alphabet series. I needed a word for the letter Q and when I saw the photo I thought now I have found my word! Since the letter Q is not easy to find I am glad I took this photo!
We are all back from a long weekend in Chamonix, the posts will follow soonish!!

Zurich Theater Spektakel
As summer passes another event has finished, just one week ago Zurich Theater Spektakel which took place next to the lake at the Landiwiese. It is a mixture of ticketed performances and free street artists performing to get the crowds going! I try to go at least twice but this year only managed to go once on a Monday early evening with Alessio.
There is usually lots to do for kids they normally like to see the street artists we saw two and Alessio enjoyed them both. One was from Chile he did stuff with fire and riding on an unicycle and other was a pair doing modern dance.
We ate pizza in one of the many restaurants, there was also a small carousel for children and a play area with dressing up clothes and old toys. The kids can also have popcorn, ice creams and drinks, it was cool and of course the parents can sit and relax a bit!
So if you have not been before then I do recommend but of course now you must wait another year! Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Photo of the Week - Bright Clouds
The photo of the week was taken in August on a Sunday evening sitting in Zurich near to the river Limmat. As always I have my trusty camera with me and seeing the clouds with the sun behind them decided to take some photos, not knowing how they would turn out.
I like it anyway, hope you do too! This weekend off on my travels again, this time to Chamnoix and to see Mont Blanc!

Menorcan Words
Another post in the word series, this time from Menorca where Alessio and I spent one week in July. We visited both cities Mahon and Ciutadella both were lovely places to visit lots to see and do, although I mainly walked around enjoyed the sights. Also checking out some nice cafes to sit and relax and people watch.
The last evening in Mahon Alessio and I had dinner in an Italian restaurant in the port area very near to our hotel.
