This is about my life in Zurich, all the places I visit, what I get up to with my son and anything I think is good to blog about.

Sunny Morning Walk
This sunny walk was not at the weekend, although it could have been with the weather we had! It was during the Christmas period, I had a day free as Alessio was away with his friend and his family to visit the Transport Museum. I got the bus to the Rote Fabrik (Red Factory) and walked from there into the city.
I like the Rote Fabrik building a lot, it holds concerts, art exhibitions, and it is also a dance club. There is also a cafe/restaurant which I have not been too, but had a peep in. As you can see from the outside it is covered in street art and there is some great stuff! There is a small playground which I have taken Alessio a few times.
The walk into the city was nice and there was lots of people out and about too, it did not take that long too.
Have a good week!

Photo of the Week - Pigeons Galore!
This is in Plaza Catalunya in Barcelona, we went there on our first evening. The place was full of pigeons and Alessio was happy to walk through the whole bunch of them. Then this family was feeding them until suddenly someone walked a bit to near and they all buggered off! I have to say that I don`t really like the idea of all these birds around my head, when they fly off!
Wishing you all a good mid week!

Isle of Iona
One of our trips to Scotland last year we had 4 days visiting the Isle of Mull and the Isle of Iona , which are part of the Inner Hebrides. The ferry leaves from Fionnphort and last only 15 mins I think. The isle is extremely beautiful and the main building is the abbey. It is one of the oldest and most important religious centres in Western Europe. In 563, Columba came from Ireland and founded a monastery. The abbey was a focal point for the spread of Christianity throughout Scotland. It is reputed to be the burial ground of some 48 Kings of Scotland. The abbey is part of Historic Scotland and we toured the abbey and surrounding small buildings. There is an audio guide which is very helpful to explain all the history.
The current inhabitants is around 130, but there are many visitors throughout the year. I bought some of the local crafts and we enjoyed the views and the lovely beach.
We were really blessed with great weather, this summer Alessio and I along with my parents will be visiting the Outer Hebrides or the Western Isle for one week. I am really looking forward to this trip!
Wishing you all a great week!

Nou Camp Barcelona
The highlight of our trip to Barcelona was without a doubt the visit to Nou Camp, which as you all know is the home ground of FC Barcelona. I have wanted to come here and see FC Barcelona play for a long time, as has Alessio (but maybe not for so long as me!) Finally last September I decided to buy tickets for the match against Las Palmas.
Getting to the stadium is quick easy and we knew where to go as it was extremely busy! We eventually found our entrance area and had a short wait for the gates to open. I had tickets for the back of the north goal and midway up the stadium, so we could see what was happening at the other side but not too high that all the player would look tiny!
We arrived one hour before the match started as I wanted to get to our seats and savour the stadium getting busy. The capacity of the stadium is 99,354 and is the largest stadium in Europe! While it certainly wasn`t completely full it certainly looked by match start to be pretty full and according to stats the attendance was 81,480!
The Las Palmas players came out to warm up and eventually came the Barcelona players and a huge cheer erupted from the stadium. Alessio and myself are also big Messi fans (hence the many photos of him) so we were trying to figure where he was during the warm up!
The only goal in the first half came from Suarez, the second half action was right at our goal and we were very pleased that they scored another 4 goals. Not to mention that Messi scored one of them, it was a thrilling match and they could have scored more in fact.
Towards the end of the match the whole stadium erupted into the Mexican wave and that was pretty dam awesome to see!
The whole experience was amazing and Alessio would like to see another match and me too! So hopefully next season we will go again to see FC Barcelona play!
