Oor Wulllie Bucket Trail Dundee

This is the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail, in Scotland this summer, five cities had statues of this comic character dotted around. In Dundee we decided to find most of the statues and we managed to see most of them. The last two photos are from St.Andrews where there were only two to find. There were a few in Perth which we did not see and three in Broughty Ferry. While I was in Edinburgh I also spotted about 6 or 7, they are all fantastic, with great designs.

Oor Wullie (Our Willie) is a Scottish comic character created by D C Thompson and published in The Sunday Post newspaper. He is famous for his spiky hair, dungarees and carries around an unturned bucket which he uses as a seat. He first appeared in the newspaper in 1936, created by Thomspon editor R D Low and draw by cartoonist Dudley D Watkins.

In the comics he is also joined  by Fat Bob, Soapy Soutar, Wee Eck and Primrose, plus his Ma and Pa and PC Murdoch. They all talk in Scots with famous sayings such “Help Ma Boab“ and “Jings“.

The bucket trail finishes this weekend so if you haven't seen any or want to see more best get a move on.

Wishing you all a great weekend
